Pins for sale! I’ve been talking about these darn cardinal enamel pins for what feels like forever now, but they’re finally here and available for purchase! This has been a long process from figuring out how to fund my science communication work, picking a product, getting it manufactured and getting them onto my website. Along the way I had some hiccups, but I have to say that I’m glad I’ve taken on this new challenge for myself. I think the biggest challenge for many organizations is sustainability. It has been on my mind for some time and I think this new endeavor is going to be fruitful for funding my #scicomm and outreach efforts.
! decided on a backyard birds theme and the Northern Cardinal just struck me as the pin I had to make first. The black nickel and hard enamel are polished to a smooth finish. The manufacturing process creates a pin that is as hardy as it is vibrant, resisting scratching and fading. At one inch, these little birds are the perfect size to pop on your collar, pocket, hat and basically anything else. For me pins are a great way to express your individuality and I plan on making different pins for different people so that everyone can feel represented.
